Three members of a group of kidnappers were arrested in Santa Bárbara del Zulia, who are accused of murdering a worker in that municipality, according to police sources.
The detainees are registered as Yulimar Patricia Yépez Aguilar, José Rodolfo González and Oberto Antonio González Andrades, members of the Pote de Pólvora gang, who operate on the Eastern Coast of the Lake extorting merchants settled in that area, according to investigations.
The subjects are accused of the murder of Juan Carlos Villegas (44), doorman of the Diamon nightclub and who had been the object of multiple extortions. That crime occurred last Wednesday night at the Villegas residence located on Calle 30, Bicentennial sector, Santa Bárbara del Zulia. Two subjects arrived on a motorcycle, one of them got off and shot Villegas twice in the head, causing his death on the spot.
At the time of being arrested, the police officers seized a Sig Sauer P226 pistol, caliber 9mm, used in the homicide, a motorcycle and a cell phone that after extracting content, it was possible to obtain information linking the crimes committed, says the police report.
