Military agents arrested a member of the Tren de Aragua criminal organization, who is among those who carried out the kidnapping of merchant Antonio José Gómez Macedo (56) according to military sources.
This procedure was carried out by members of the National Anti-Extortion and Kidnapping Command (Conas) in a section of the Puerto Cabello-Valencia highway (Carabobo) where Delvis Rafael Parra Ybarra was detained.
Subject was driving a Toyota Corolla, license plate AA436UE. When carrying out the inspection of the car, the soldiers located a Glock 9 mm pistol and one hundred 7.62×51 caliber cartridges that fit into rifles.
They also found inside the vehicle driven by Parra Ybarra, two telephone sets, a green balaclava, two bulletproof vests, a Naguanagua municipal police card and military clothing.
Following the initial statements of the detainee, the Conas identified several leaders of the Aragua Train, known by the nicknames of El Santanita, El Coty, Patón, Gallito, Yorleny Mavares, Alejo, Capitán, La Fresa, Orlandito, El Manco and Junior The Dwarf.
The Conas has these subjects as the intellectual and material authors of the kidnapping of Gómez Macedo, who was forcibly removed from his business located in Puerto Cabello (Carabobo) on September 3 last. The kidnappers wore clothes similar to those used by police forces.
Gómez Macedo was released in Tucacas (Falcón) last Tuesday, due to pressure from security agencies around the area where the kidnappers were holding the merchant, the director of the Bolivarian National Police, Elio Estrada, explained at the time.
