Soraya Thronicke signs commitment against slave labor

Electoral Justice receives 28 thousand registrations of candidacy for the elections

The União Brasil candidate for the presidency of the Republic, Soraya Thronicke, signed today (9) a letter of commitment against contemporary slave labor, prepared by the National Association of Labor Justice Magistrates (Anamatra). In the document, the candidate undertakes not to allow influences in her decisions that prevent the enactment of laws or the implementation of measures necessary for the eradication of slave labor. “We are going to curb contemporary slave labor, human trafficking and sanction all matters, all bills related to the subject. I am absolutely committed to Anamatra,” said Soraya.

Among the commitments made by the candidate is to support the registration of employers who have subjected workers to conditions analogous to slavery, known as the “dirty list”, maintained by the federal government since 2003; and implement the actions contained in the 2nd National Plan for the Eradication of Slave Labor, and in the state and municipal plans.

Thronicke also undertook to resign from his mandate if slave labor is found under his responsibility or in his private enterprises, and also to exonerate any person who holds a public position of trust, under the management of his government, who may be held responsible for benefiting from slave labor.

In addition to Anamatra, 13 entities participate in the letter-commitment initiative, such as the National Association of Public Prosecutors (ANPR) and the National Association of Labor Prosecutors and Prosecutors (ANPT).

This Friday, the candidate’s agenda also included recording electoral propaganda, an interview for the group O Liberal, from Pará, and to a chain of communication vehicles from Amapá, Maranhão, Mato Grosso, Tocantins, Amazonas, Rondônia, Roraima and Acre; and also for the Connection Power Portal, in the state of Mato Grosso.
