After the announcement of the opening of the border between Colombia and Venezuelaplanned for September 26, the president of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro, estimated that there will be large gains on the trade side for both countries.
“Just with the opening of the border, this year it is estimated that we could reach 2,000 million dollars of commercial exchange between Colombia and Venezuela, it’s that simple (…) it’s not like before, things have changed, how nice it is to have good relations with Colombia,” said Maduro.
Nicolás Maduro’s statements occur after meeting with Colombian Trade Minister Germán Umaña. The president stressed that these gains will occur during this year, that is, between September 26 and December 31.
“Colombia selling its high-quality products and we are already selling our products because we have an exportable offer from Venezuela”, added Maduro.
