Duplication of route PY02 registers 79% progress overall

Hoy Paraguay

The general progress of 79% corresponds to the duplication and expansion works of route PY02 on five fronts. To date, there are more than 102 km already enabled for transit from Caaguazú to Ypacaraí.

Currently, the tasks carried out by the Specific Object Society (SOE) – Rutas del Este, are verified in five sections that are: Section 1.1. (From km 40.5 to km 49); Section 1.2. (km 59.2 to km 73.7); Caacupé variant; Itacurubí de la Cordillera bypass and Coronel Oviedo bypass.

With respect to the Caacupé variant, at km 49.6 the construction of culverts and lined ditches is being carried out, as well as the concreting of the Tobatí route link framework. In addition, the construction of abutments for the Yhaka Ro’ysa bridge at km 6.8 is progressing.

The construction of this variant will allow users to save between 40 to 50 minutes from Caaguazú to Caacupé, and will also save fuel, as well as influence the transportation costs of products and services.

On the other hand, Rodolfo Segovia, minister of the MOPC, met with those in charge of the Headquarters of Detachment No. 3 – Detour to San Bernardino of the Highway Patrol, where he arranged for a solution to be found for the vehicles held for traffic violations and they were not removed by their owners. This is because they mean a possible breeding ground for mosquitoes and are aesthetically annoying to the eye.

He also requested coordinated work to maintain good vehicular traffic in the work zone of route PY02.
