President peter castle He went back to the Prosecutor’s Office to testify in one of the proceedings against him. This time in the investigation carried out by the Cajamarca prosecutor Nury Marín Reyes for the alleged plagiarism of her master’s thesis, that would have happened 10 years ago.
The statement was made in Lima, in the environments of the supraprovincial prosecutors for corruption crimes, next to the main headquarters of the Public Ministry, on Abancay Avenue. Castillo arrived accompanied by his lawyer Benji Espinoza.
As before the National Prosecutor, the president made a brief statement to the prosecutor, in which he denied having committed a crime, and pointed out that the investigation has no basis.
Then he explained that is available to answer any questions when the Prosecutor’s Office has any specific information that must be clarified for the clarification of the facts.
Upon completion of the due diligence, defense attorney Benji Espinoza announced that they will once again request that the case be archived, because the alleged crimes have already prescribed.
“The plagiarism complaint had been filed, but in the second instance it was reopened. The alleged generic falsehood has already been definitively archived in two instances,” Espinoza said.
He explained that only the complaint for illicit payment is pending investigation, because supposedly they couldn’t get a bonus in teaching because they didn’t have a master’s degree, but that this too has prescribed.
Therefore, they will once again ask the Prosecutor’s Office to file the investigation definitively.
President Pedro Castillo has publicly denied that he committed plagiarism, because the thesis had an advisor assigned by the César Vallejo University, and he points out that the complaint has a political overtone to destabilize his government.
