The man who hit and broke the glass of a truck in which the president of CODICEN, Robert Silva, was traveling, declared this Thursday after meeting with neighbors in Cerro to talk about education.
The statement is given in the middle of the preliminary investigation stage, a period in which the Prosecutor’s Office gathers all the elements, according to what the director of Communication of the Prosecutor’s Office, Javier Benech, told the press.
He assured that the detained individual showed “repentant” and was willing to reach some type of reparation agreement, as a way to remedy the criminal conflict.

Last Thursday night, September 1, Robert Silva left a compound in Cerro after having participated in a talk with neighbors about the educational reform that his administration is promoting.
Outside, a group of people opposed to said reform demonstrated and, as they left, some shouted and insulted, and there were shoves and struggles.
In videos captured by cell phones of people present, it is seen how the indicated individual throws a thermos with his right hand that hits the rear window of the truck Silva was in, breaking it. The director of Security and Coexistence of the Ministry of the Interior, Santiago González, present at the scene, said that the insults and attacks were carried out by a group of “outsiders”, while the National Federation of Secondary Education Teachers (FENAPES) repudiated the fact. and separated from it.
“We strongly repudiate any violent outburst that tarnishes the legitimate right of students, teachers and citizens in general to demonstrate,” the union wrote on Twitter a few minutes after learning what happened.
