In the last 14 days, 59,088 Argentines arrived in Uruguay, which represented 61% of the total number of foreigners who arrived in the country from December 15 to 29. Brazilians followed with 18,144 tourists (19%), so that with both neighbors they added almost 80 thousand tourists.

“You can see the increase in receptive tourism day after day in these last 14 days,” said the National Director of Tourism, Roque Baudean, on Thursday.

In third place were the Paraguayans with 3,703 people who arrived in the country and the Americans, with 3,518. Both represented 4% of the total number of foreigners. Spain, for its part, came fourth in the ranking with 1,582 tourists (2%).

The remaining 10% of foreigners are of other nationalities, which represents 10%.

In total, 95,108 foreigners arrived in Uruguay in the last 14 days to vacation and enjoy this high season, which came along with the omicron variable.

“We are doing well, maintaining income protocols,” wrote Baudean through his Twitter account, through which he disclosed the numbers of tourists who have visited Uruguay in the last 14 days.

“Let’s take care of ourselves and take care of those who visit us, get vaccinated,” suggested the National Director of Tourism.
