Hours prior to the sexual violation attributed to him to the detriment of a congressional servant, legislator Freddy Díaz Monago drank alcohol in the dining room of the Legislative Palace together with nine colleagues of Alliance for Progress (APP), according to La República sources with knowledge of the tax investigation into the case.
After this episode Freddy Díaz went to his office in Jirón Azángaro along with other members of the APP caucus, where he would later perpetrate the sexual assault, according to the testimonies collected.
Congressmen Eduardo Salhuana Cavides, Elva Julón Irigoin, Heidy Juárez Calle, Sheryl Trigozo Reátegui, María Acuña Peralta, Idelso García Correa, Rosío Torres Salinas, Alejandro Soto Reyes and Magaly Ruiz Rodríguez sipped alcohol in the company of F.Reddy Diaz, denounced by a worker who said she had been sexually violated by him.
Congressman Eduardo Salhuana confirmed to this newspaper that Congressman Freddy Díaz Monago had been at lunch with all the members of the caucus who attended on July 26, day of the election of the Board of Directors in which Lady Camones was elected president.
Eduardo Salhuana also reported that they had wine at lunch. According to information obtained by this means, Congresswoman Heidy Juárez was the one who brought several bottles of wine to celebrate the victory of her parliamentary colleague.
The Republic confirmed that the people who were at that time, along with Freddy Díaz Monago, were the 9 members of the Alliance for Progress (APP), minus Lady Camones and Roberto Chiabra.
In photographs published by Congresswoman Juárez on her Facebook account, It is observed that all the members of the APP bench attended the Congress that day, but a majority went to lunch in the dining room of the Legislative Palace.
Through her Twitter account, parliamentarian Magaly Ruiz also posted photos of her colleagues along with Freddy Díaz and glasses of wine are observed, confirming what he had said to Radioprogramas, without mentioning the names and surnames of the participants.
At the close of the edition, the congressmen denied the facts. They stated that they did not drink too much.
From cup to cup
After eating your food, the congressmen went to visit Lady Camones in her office of the presidency of the Congress. They were there for about an hour, according to Eduardo Salhuana.
Hours later, Congressman Freddy Díaz leaves the Legislative Palace towards his office in the Jirón Azángaro facilities, along with his colleagues Alejandro Soto and Idelso García.
Shortly after, Alejandro Soto retired leaving Freddy Díaz and Idelso García. They then met with Eduardo Salhuana in his office, where they remained for about an hour and a half. The sources consulted indicated that the three drank alcohol, although Salhuana denies it.
After the stay in Salhuana’s office, legislator Freddy Díaz left the place and went to his office to continue drinking alcohol, and in such circumstances the sexual violation that the Congress worker has denounced was recorded.
It was Congressman Freddy Díaz who mentioned in an interview with Radioprogramas that he had been drinking alcohol with several parliamentarians.
one more drink
“I started drinking liquor with some congressmen. I’m going to reserve [los nombres]I am not the one to say the names. Outside [de mi oficina] I was with several congressmen [tomando]not only in my office,” he declared.
Congressman Eduardo Salhuana Cavides confirmed to La República that on the day of the events, Freddy Díaz and Idelso García went to his office, but “just to ask him to send an apology to the leader César Acuña Peralta because both of them were not going to attend a party meeting what they had that day. An hour and a half in Salhuana’s office just to leave that message seems like a long time.
“He (Freddy Díaz) came to my office around 6:30 or 7 at night. He came to visit me and ask me to apologize to the engineer Cesar Acunabecause that day we had a dinner, and I was not going to be able to attend. He asked me to send him his apologies. We were talking. Then his adviser called him and left. He arrived with Congressman Idelso García,” he said.
Salhuana denied that he had drunk liquor that day with Freddy Díaz and Idelso García.
“Not at all [hemos tomado en mi oficina]. He called me and told me that he had to talk about a few things with me and I told him to come to my office. He came and we talked about what I’m telling you,” he added.
However, as indicated, La República learned that the meeting in the Salhuana office lasted approximately an hour and a half. Which reinforces the thesis that Díaz and García did not only go to ask him for a favor.
However, Salhuana accepted that nine congressmen from his bench went to lunch in the Congress dining room, in the headquarters of the Legislative Palace, and that at the end they toasted with wine.
“It is normal to toast and it was not about any drunkenness,” Salhuana said.
Coincidentally, Eduardo Salhuana and his colleague Rosío Torres Salinas, as members of the Ethics Commission, they saw the case of Freddy Díaz Monago for the rape complaint.
The Republic also communicated with Freddy Díaz and Idelso García, but they did not answer the calls or the messages. This medium is waiting for their releases about what they did on the night of July 26.
APP: “It is a political revenge”
At a press conference, the APP parliamentarians denied the statements made by the defense of their former colleague Freddy Díaz Monago, who stated that he drank alcohol with 9 of his colleagues on July 26, the same day that he allegedly perpetrated a sexual violation.
The parliamentarians stated that Freddy Díaz is acting in revenge because it was, precisely, an APP congressman who filed the complaint against him before the Ethics Commission.
“It is an act of political revenge because he was expelled by APP,” they indicated.
They were also surprised that just now he declared that he was drinking with nine congressmen, despite the fact that before the Prosecutor’s Office, in his initial statements, “he did not report anything on the subject.”
“Freddy Díaz never said in his releases that he had been with nine congressmen, what a coincidence that, just as the Ethics Commission is proposing a 120-day suspension, this congressman comes out to say that parliamentarians were drinking”, they said.
