“We started to build this project based on culture and it is debuting in Niterói”, said the project’s production director, Victor Grimoni. He added that although it was born as a cultural and not an environmental project, it managed to unite several fronts: social, environmental, education , economy. Cris Duarte believes that art plays an important role in this project, as one of the channels for transmitting ideas and information and raising public awareness of the issue of ocean preservation. In her works, the artist explores themes such as the beach, rough sea, sky, coral reef, water reflection and sailboat on the high seas.

“The idea is that the paintings generate in the public a feeling of love for the oceans. I want to use art to draw attention to this larger theme, which is sustainability, and which involves science, politics, technology and government actions,” said Cris.
