The bench of Democratic Change agreed last Wednesday to present legislator Edgard Reymundo as a pre-candidate for the presidency of the Congress of the Republic.
This was reported by its spokeswoman, Ruth Luque, who, in statements to journalists, explained that the decision was adopted unanimously, taking into account the experience of Reymundo Mercado.
“I want to inform public opinion that yesterday we had a caucus meeting in which we made a unanimous decision to present Congressman Edgar Reymundo as a pre-candidate for the Presidency of Congress”he expressed.

“Our bench has made that decision because we believe that Congressman Edgar Reymundo, in addition to having already had another legislative period, has experience”he added.
He informed that they will establish dialogues with other political forces, in order to be able to generate consensus around the candidacy of Edgar Reymundowith the expectation of achieving better representation of the leftist and progressive sectors of Congress.
“(Edgar Reymundo) has been president of the Oversight Commission in his first term, he has all the conditions and qualities to be able to lead in an appropriate and democratic manner and express political representation”he underlined.
“This decision that we have made allows us as a bench to establish a dialogue with other political forces, with other congressmen in order to generate consensus around –hopefully- a candidacy that allows the left and progressive sectors within Congress to have better representation”sentenced.
It should be noted that the Board of Spokespersons of Congress convened a face-to-face plenary session for this Monday 12 at 10 in the morning to elect the new head of Parliament, after the censorship of Lady Camones, of Alliance for Progress.
