The spot in the decision had to be defined in the maximum penalties because Tricolor won 2 to 0 in the 90 minutes, after being defeated by 3 to 1 in the first match.

Now São Paulo faces Independiente del Valle (Ecuador) in the big decision, on October 1st, at the Mario Alberto Kempes stadium, in Córdoba (Argentina).

Even under pressure after the setback in the first leg, Rogério Ceni’s team entered the pitch confident, and managed to open the scoring early, at 4 minutes, with Patrick, who took advantage of a rebound given by goalkeeper Renan in a shot by Luciano.

With the advantage in the marker, São Paulo was encouraged once and for all in the match, and reached the second in the 17th minute of the final stage, when Alisson crossed to the area, where Patrick got ahead of the defense to score and take the decision to penalties.

In the maximum penalties, Reinaldo, Calleri, Igor Vinícius and Galoppo scored for São Paulo, which had Luciano wasting his opportunity, while Wellington Rato and Shaylon scored for Atlético, who saw Baralhas and Léo Pereira fail.
