The Argentine justice has determined that Cristina Fernández’s aggressor, Fernando Sabag Montiel, and her partner, Brenda Uliarte, acted jointly.
For the federal justice system, there was “previous planning and agreement” in the event. When she was summoned to make an investigative statement, Brenda Uliarte was read the accusation stating that she was “present in the vicinity of the place, to which [ambos] They arrived together, having determined that they had been in possession of the seized firearm with its ammunition since the date prior to the event, at least since August 5, 2021.”
Sabag Montiel told investigators: “Brenda had nothing to do with it, and neither did I.” But yesterday, Wednesday, Judge María Eugenia Capuchetti accused Uliarte and Sabag Montiel of “having tried to kill” the vice president.
A new piece of evidence has appeared in that box. In a video that is already in the hands of the authorities, Fernando Sabag Montiel appears in the surroundings of Fernández’s home. The images were taken on August 28, four days before the assassination attempt.
Investigators are trying to establish the motive for the attack on Cristina Fernández, one of the most influential political figures in Argentina.
Both young people could be prosecuted for attempted aggravated homicide, aggravated by the presence of two or more people, by the victim’s state of defenselessness, by premeditation and by the use of an activated weapon.
