During August 2022, the Food Price Index Global stood at 138.0 points, a level that is almost 22 points lower than the all-time high it reached during March.
This reflects that, although food inflation is still a concern around the world, prices have stabilized.
Additionally, the price level added five consecutive months with falls, which shows an inflationary relaxation trend.
This index is prepared and disseminated by the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO for its acronym in English) and gives clues to the trend of the prices of staple foods on a global scale.
