Minister Pino: ‘I was appointed by the President of the Republic and I will be there until the day he tells me’

Given the constant complaints from various sectors of the country and members of civil society about the work of the Minister of Public Security, Juan Manuel Pino and who have requested his resignation, he expressed that he will occupy the position until the president so decides because it was he who appointed it.

“I was appointed by the President of the Republic and I will be there until the day he tells me. We are responsible for the present and I will do my best in a transparent and forceful way,” he said.

He added that during this 2021 more than 128 tons of drugs were seized, which is why the domain extinction law is necessary for him. For that same reason, he said that many people such as politicians or members of organized crime may be behind him.

In addition, he pointed out that for next year the teams of the Public Force will be reinforced, and a maritime patrol plane will be received to improve the custody of the territorial sea because the highest percentage of drugs enters this way.

He noted that his work is characterized by loyalty to the president, the country and the flag.

Pino’s statements were made during the weapons destruction ceremony that took place this Thursday morning.
