The draft General Budget of the Nation (PGN) for the year 2023, recently presented by the Executive to Congress, seeks to ensure the sustainability of the strategic items assigned to the Ministry of Public Health and Social Welfare through Treasury Resources, that is, , from taxes. The planned Budget for the Ministry of Health for the coming year amounts to a total of G. 7.29 billion.
The message that accompanies the PGN 2023 project states that, in terms of health, the financing mechanism for investments initiated during the pandemic has been gradually modified, injecting Resources from the Public Treasury, which represent G. 473,000 million for the maintenance of the salary coverage of white staff.
It reaffirms that the search for this sustainability in strategic areas is based on the premise of financing health through tax resources, in order to meet citizen demands for public health care, since, as the collection, it will be possible to count on a more solid system.
It also mentions that, in terms of the quality of the services provided, a total of G. 49,000 million has been programmed for the care of specific diseases, G. 162,000 million in investment to improve technology and purchase of equipment, in addition to others linked to the maintenance of the health system, as well as strategies to continue with investments in vaccines and medicines, adding resources worth G. 344,000 million, which represents an investment of G. 1.1 billion.
Additionally, and in case of having the authorization related to the fiscal result for the next year, additional resources corresponding to G. 710,000 million (0.2% of GDP) will be allocated to the health area to support the investments made in the system. of health.
