The president of the Electoral Power, Pedro Calzadilla received this Wednesday the ambassador of the Plurinational State of Bolivia in Venezuela, Sebastián Michel Hoffmann.
During the meeting, Calzadilla highlighted that the designation of the electoral authorities by the National Assembly (AN), carried out in May of last year, had the objective of strengthening the Electoral Power within the framework of the political situation that the country was experiencing, refers the website of the CNE.
He also highlighted the relationship between the electoral bodies of both countries and recalled the participation of a delegation from the Venezuelan CNE in the general elections held in Bolivia on October 18, 2020, for the election of the president, vice president and other positions of the Andean country.
For his part, the Bolivian diplomatic representative thanked the meeting with the highest electoral authority of Venezuela, considering that the appointment of the new authorities has been key to the political climate of the country, as well as the dialogues between the different sectors.
The Bolivian diplomat held the position of Vice Minister of Communications of the Plurinational State of Bolivia between 2009 and 2016. He is an expert in electoral matters and has participated in more than 20 electoral missions.
Michel has served as ambassador of the Plurinational State of Bolivia in Venezuela since January 14, 2021, when he formalized his credentials before the first national president.
