The level of industrial activity grew 5.1% in July in relation to the same month last year, while construction advanced 5.2%, the National Institute of Statistics and Censuses (Indec) reported on Wednesday.

Compared to the previous month, factory production marked a decrease of 1.2%; while construction rose 2.2%, the agency detailed.

According to the INDEC report, in July fifteen of the sixteen divisions of the manufacturing industry surveyed presented increases in the interannual comparison.
In order of their incidence in the general level, increases were registered in “Machinery and equipment”, with an improvement of 21.1%; “Motor vehicles, bodies, trailers and auto parts”, 21.6%; “Other equipment, devices and instruments”, 15.6%.
It was followed by “Basic metal industries”, 4.9%; “Rubber and plastic products”, 6.8%; “Oil refining”, 8.7%; “Clothes, leather and footwear”, 6.6%; “Non-metallic mineral products”, 5.3%;
They also presented increases “Food and beverages”, 0.8%; “Chemical substances and products”, 1.4%; “Metal products”, 4.0%; “Wood, paper, publishing and printing”, 1.7%; and “Furniture and mattresses, and other manufacturing industries”, 3.7%.
Meanwhile, the activity of the “Textile” item did not show changes compared to July 2021.
