More than 1,000 stores across the country participated in "The night of pizza and empanada"

More than 1,000 stores across the country participated this Tuesday night of lat the 39th edition of “The night of pizza and empanada”, organized by the Association of Pizzerias and Houses of Empanadas (Apyce), during which a large audience came to take advantage of discounts and promotions on drinks.

On Corrientes Avenue, a traditional pole of the business in downtown Buenos Aires, the pizzerias that joined Apyce’s initiative had a significant number of diners, especially those located in front of the theaters.

Owners of pizzerias consulted by Télam assured that The pizzas that had the most sales were mozzarella, ham and bell peppers, Neapolitan and fugazeta, while the most consumed empanadas were chicken and ham and cheese.

The Kentucky pizzeria, located in front of the National Theater, was packed with customers attracted by the 30% discount on pizzas.

Nestor, who took the opportunity to meet with friends, told Télam: “You have to take advantage of moves like this. You can’t always go out to eat.”

In turn, at the Las Cuartetas pizzeria, a line of fifty people was observed waiting to be served outside the premises.

Renzo, a resident of the Buenos Aires neighborhood of Monserrat, who went to the pizzeria to have dinner with his partner and their three children, said “We found out about the move on Facebook and the truth is it’s just an excuse to spend a nice night with my family.”

Quique, one of the waiters of the aforementioned pizzeria, indicated: “It is not usual to have this many people on a weekday and we are grateful that there is a day like this so that more people come.”

A few blocks away, at the Banchero pizzeria, located on Avenida Corrientes at 1300, in front of the Multiteatro, a large number of people came to the place to enjoy the promotion of 50% off pizza and empanadas.

Valentina, a 20-year-old girl who joined her university classmates for dinner, expressed, while tasting a ham and bell pepper pizza: “Friends, have a nice night and eat pizza. There is no better possible combination“.

In the same place, Agustín, who waited 25 minutes to be served and ask for the promotion of two portions of mozzarella and a beer at 1,000 pesos, said: “Despite everything, it was worth the wait.”

In Güerrin, located in Corrientes at 1368, in front of the Metropolitan Theater, more than 60 people lined up for dinner.

Agustín, 21, found out about the initiative through social networks and remarked. “It is the first time I come to this place. The truth is, I want to have the experience of eating a fugazzetta sitting at a bar.”

According to Apyce, more than 1,000 stores throughout the country participated in this edition of “The Night of Pizza and Empanada”

In addition to the initiative’s official website (www.lanochedelapizzaylaempanada.com.ar), Apyce developed an application so that those interested can automatically access an interactive map of the day throughout the country from their cell phones, depending on their location.

The initiative included promotions and discounts, which were defined by each business and were available on the interactive map.
