The duel that opened the 29th round of Série B of the Brazilian Championship ended with a hard-fought victory for Vila Nova. This Tuesday (6th), Tigrão defeated Guarani by 2-1, at the Onésio Brasileiro Alvarenga stadium, in Goiânia.
Goiás surpassed São Paulo, but they are still in the relegation zone. The Midwest team occupies the 17th position, with the same 31 points as CSA, the first club outside the Z4, behind in terms of number of victories. The Bugre, with 29 points, fell to the runner-up.
The visitors opened the scoring in first-half stoppage time. In the 47th minute, forward Yuri Tanque received from midfielder Rodrigo Andrade and kicked a cross in the area to beat goalkeeper Koslinski. Vila’s draw came shortly after the break, at eight, in a submission by forward Dentinho, from outside the area. Already at 43, midfielder Arthur Rezende took a corner, Koslinski came out badly and defender Matheus Mancini took advantage, guaranteeing the triumph of Tigrão.
For the 30th round of Serie B, Guarani returns to the field next Tuesday (13), at 19:00 (Brasília time), at the Germano Krüger stadium, in Ponta Grossa (PR), against Operário. Vila Nova will be 11 days without games for the national competition and will only have an appointment on the 17th, at the Augusto Bauer stadium, in Brusque (SC), in front of the hosts.
