Indigenous women work to strengthen their roots

Mujeres indígenas trabajan para fortalecer sus raíces

This Monday, in the Café en la Mañana program, broadcast by Venezolana de Televisión, the commissioner of the indigenous peoples of the Cacica Urquía Women’s Front, Lolimar González, stressed that women continue to fight for the recognition of their work.

In turn, González highlighted that there are currently around 20,000 indigenous people within the Caracas territory (Quechua, Ecuadorians, Incas and Wayú, among others) and explained that the El Valle parish has the largest number of indigenous people compared to the 22 parishes of Caracas.

Likewise, he explained that they carry out social work in the 22 parishes of the Capital District, where they urge women not to lose their origins, in order to strengthen the indigenous roots in Venezuela.
