With 61 votes in favor, 47 against and 5 abstentions, the plenary session of Congress approved the censure that dismisses Lady Camones (APP) of the Legislative Presidency.
The motion, with the signature of 23 congressmen from different groups: Free Peru, Democratic Peru, Democratic Change, Bicentennial Peru and Podemos Peru, was presented one day after the Executive requested the resignation of the entire congressional board of directors.
Fuerza Popular, Alianza para el Progreso and Somos Perú, which promoted the current Board of Directors, opposed it.

The request was based on the audio broadcast between Camones and the leader of APP, César Acuña. In the dialogue, which took place at a party meeting, Acuña tells Camones and other leaders: “I have a project that they have to take out these days, Alto Trujillo, which is strategic (…). It is a dream of 30 years ago. Do you know that it has 120,000 voters? It is more than El Porvenir and right now the Executive has already sent the bill, that is, it has given us the ball. Right now this project (to create the district) of Alto Trujillo is going to favor me, if we speed it up”.
After the plenary session ended, the APP bench presented a reconsideration to reverse this decision, which would be evaluated in the next session.
The first vice president of Parliament, Martha Moyano (FP), must call elections for the position that Camones left vacant within the following five days, as established by the Regulations of Congress.

CAMONES IN STRUGGLES
The Special Electoral Jury (JEE) of Lima Centro ordered that information be collected on the audios starring Camones, in order to assess whether he has violated the principle of electoral neutrality. In that sense, the electoral entity gave Camones a one-day term to deliver his discharge, under penalty of issuing a statement without his acquittal.
For its part, the Ombudsman’s Office assured that the audios “would reveal an intention to use public power in favor of particular political interests, a fact that transgresses the ethical norms that should guide electoral processes.”
For this reason, he called on the Prosecutor’s Office “to carry out the corresponding investigations” and asked the JNE to evaluate whether electoral neutrality was violated.
To this is added the criminal complaint filed last Sunday against Camones and Acuña for the alleged commission of the crimes of influence peddling and collusion.

- Yesterday, the Ethics Commission approved an ex officio complaint against Lady Camones, with 12 votes in favor and 3 against, for the audios she stars in with Acuña.
- The censorship of a head of Congress has not occurred for 22 years. The last time it went to Martha Hildebrandt, in the year 2000, with 64 votes.
