Before a large turnout, the Agrostore of the Agricultural Marketing Institute (IMA) opened its doors in the Volcán de Merca Panamá, so that consumers can purchase products from the basic food basket at affordable prices.
The items of greatest demand such as rice, in addition to oil, sugar, salt, canned goods, coffee, prickly pear and others that make up the diet of a large part of the country’s population are integrated with the varied supply of legumes, grains, tubers, fruits , vegetables and fresh vegetables.
Ranth Berard, general manager of Mercados Nacionales de la Cadena de Frío, SA, stressed that this inter-institutional initiative has played an important role in the government’s strategy to bring food products to the population at good prices, from the IMA Agro Stores in Merca David, Merca Chitré and from now on, in Merca Panamá.
“On behalf of the National Government, we are very pleased to achieve this inter-institutional achievement for the benefit of the Panamanian population,” said Berard.
The IMA Agrotienda, in Merca Panama, joins the chain of markets Merca Chitré and Merca David, for the benefit of the Panamanian population.
