After the questioning of two ministries, the Broad Front will send its conclusions on the delivery of the passport to the drug trafficker to the prosecution Sebastian Marset, by the government. The Public Ministry is investigating the case ex officioY the opposition believes that “there are more political responsibilities” and “there must be more consequences”. So said Senator Mario Bergara.
The Broad Front will also make a request for reports to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs so that it “gives answers” that have not been obtained, the legislator told the press on Monday.
“We were very worried because the two ministers emphasized at the end of the interpellation that they had done everything right. Even knowing that the passport was functional to Marset’s strategy, that today he is a fugitive”, Bergara pointed out regarding Luis Alberto Heber (Interior) and Francisco Bustillo (Foreign Relations).
For the opposition “this episode has eroded the image of the country in the international community” and affected the “confidence of the citizens themselves.” The government granted the passport to Marset by “a very very extraordinary way”, claimed Bergara.
