With a view to ensuring that safe medicines and with sanitary registration enter Panama, this Monday the Ministry of Health (Minsa), through the Directorate of Pharmacy and Drugs, launched the campaign with the slogan: “No to illicit medicines, with Health no se Juega”, whose main objective is to counteract the level of drug trafficking throughout the country
Ivette Berrío, Vice Minister of Health, explained that for months they have been working on a strategy to prevent illegal drugs from entering the country and to detect in a timely manner shipments of drugs that want to enter the country illegally.
Berrío indicated that this campaign will have the support of the Security Institutions such as: the Public Ministry, Customs, the National Police, the National Border Service, the Naval Air Service, the National Association of Pharmacists and the Presidency of the Republic; among other institutions related to the subject.
“It is a very important fight that the National Government is carrying out together with the Security Establishments, Uniting Forces, to prevent the transfer of medicines or the entry of re-medicines that do not have their health registration,” he specified.
