The US ratifies its support for Guaidó and asks to resume negotiations in Venezuela

The spokesperson for the United States Department of State, Ned Price, assured that his country will continue to support Juan Guaidó as the “leader of the Venezuelan democratic unity” until they are carried out truly free and fair elections.

Price noted that apart from recognize Juan Guaidó “as interim president”, They also consider that Nicolás Maduro should return to the dialogues with the opposition that was developed in Mexico to solve the political crisis that the country is experiencing.

“We will continue to support diplomacy that leads us to our shared goal. to have free and fair elections in Venezuela, we have always said so and we have always supported the opposition in their commitment to that end“Said Price.

The United States also demanded Nicolás Maduro unconditionally and immediately release all people who have been detained for political reasons, including the group of Americans “unjustly detained” in Venezuela.
