ANTAI sends 15 files to the Public Ministry and Comptroller for their respective investigation

The National Authority for Transparency and Access to Information (ANTAI), forwarded 15 files to the Public Ministry and the Comptroller General of the Republic for investigation, as they were possible acts of corruption typified in the Penal Code.

Information provided by the Office of Legal Counsel indicates that seven files were sent to the Public Ministry for possible crimes of abuse of authority and infractions of the duties of public servants; concussion and exaction and corruption of public servants; among other crimes.

While, to the Comptroller General of the Republic, during the months of May to August, eight files have been declined to carry out audits for alleged mismanagement or misuse of public assets, since this is the competent entity for due control.

The sending of these investigations to both instances is based on Law 33 of April 25, 2013 and Law 38 of 2000, which regulates the administrative procedure, which establishes that, once a complaint is received, the authority must determine if it is competent for your knowledge and, if not, you must send it to the competent authority for processing.

Likewise, it responds to article 29 of the Code of Ethics regarding the obligation to report to the corresponding authorities those acts that could harm the State or constitute a crime.
