On Monday morning, the mayor of the capital district, José Luis Fábrega, delivered the order to proceed to improve the buildings located in San Miguel, Calidonia corregimiento.
During the act, Fábrega said that so far this year, three orders to proceed have been delivered, so this Monday’s becomes the fourth order.
“There are nine buildings (in San Miguel), which are going to generate approximately 100 to 120 temporary jobs. With this type of project, we not only seek to improve the quality of life for residents, but also life itself; there are many of those buildings that are deteriorated and what we don’t want is for them to continue deteriorating, but at the same time, generating jobs,” he remarked.
He added that the cost of these improvement works amount to one million dollars. “The most important thing here is that the labor comes from the community, this, for the generation of employment and to ensure that the quality of the work is optimal and the best because many of them live in the buildings,” he specified.
The head of the capital commune highlighted that the Juan Díaz township is scheduled to carry out housing improvements, but is awaiting the endorsement of the Comptroller General’s Office.
He announced that at 11:00 am this Monday, he will hold a meeting with the Comptroller, Gerardo Solís, to see how the issue of the markets is going: that of Mayor Díaz, that of Chilibre, among other construction projects.
“We ask the different ministries, autonomous institutions, the Comptroller’s Office, to streamline the bureaucratic process because they are slow processes and what the population is crying out for is a fixed and permanent job,” he declared.
He also referred to other pending projects such as the construction of a mixed shelter in Las Garzas that will have a capacity of approximately 500 people (250 men and 250 women) and sports complexes.
