Mario Pujols assumes as executive vice president of the AIRD

Lawyer Mario E. Pujols took office this Monday as the new executive vice president of the Association of Industries of the Dominican Republic (AIRD), after being chosen by consensus by the Executive Committee of the business organization, reported the union.

Pujols thanked the directors of the AIRD for the confidence and the opportunity to work in favor of the industrial sector and indicated: “We assume the defense and promotion of the industrial sector, motivated by a vision marked by institutionality, teamwork and innovation to create in the present a promising future for the national industry”.

“We will work in a proactive and coordinated manner to continue promoting industrial development that, in turn, translates into economic, social and sustainable development for the Dominican Republic,” added Pujols, according to a press release.

He highlighted that the AIRD “is and will continue to be the active voice that provides solutions for the benefit of all those who are part of the industrial sector and the country”, specifying that it will guide its actions based on dialogue and collaboration.

Similarly, Pujols highlighted “the great work” carried out by the recently passed executive vice president, Circe Almanzarduring the 17 years he dedicated to the association and “from which he made important contributions” to the development and strengthening of the Dominican industrial sector.

On his side, Celso Juan Marranzini, president of the AIRDexpressed: “With Mario at the head of the executive vice-presidency, we will give continuity to the historical purpose of promoting and defending reindustrialization as the basis for the creation of wealth, jobs and well-being in the country, and to reaffirm ourselves as an interlocutor that adds value in institutional processes. and in development policies.

The AIRD reported that Pujols is a consultant and strategic advisor. He has a doctorate in Law from the Universidad Iberoamericana (Unibe), with master’s degrees in Business Law and Economic Legislation from the Pontificia Universidad Católica Madre y Maestra (Pucmm), Business Administration (MBA) from Barna, and in State Administration Law from Iglobal. /Salamanca, as well as in International Business Law from the Washington College of Law of American University (Fulbright scholar).

Additionally, he has taken courses and trainings in important national and international study centers.

“His more than 24 years of experience endorse his ability and experience in matters of great importance, making him an outstanding profile in public affairs, government and institutional relations, trade, investment, industrial property, trade defense and tax matters,” said the AIRD.

Pujols has worked for national and international companies in the food, beverage, and drug industries, and in highly regulated sectors such as alcohol and tobacco.

With 60 years of existence, the Association of Industries of the Dominican Republic is the most representative business organization of the Dominican industrial sector.
