They question waste in the IPS while insured receive terrible care

Hoy Paraguay

Senator Patrick Kemper claimed that in the IPS they prefer to squander rather than provide medicines and decent care for the insured.

The senator and president of the Hagamos Party, Patrick Kemper, referred to a journalistic publication that speaks of a call for bids for the Social Security Institute (IPS) of ₲ 8,651,540,544, for the leasing with purchase option of vehicles for the presidency, administration, management and various directions.

Kemper commented that, after the publication in the press, the IPS Council decided not to approve the tender that in theory would “benefit, if we can say so, so as not to be so cruel; to the presidency, to the administration, to managers and other directions, according to what the manager of supply and logistics of the Previsional stated”.

He said that this type of situation does not only occur in IPS, but in many other institutions, that continuously “the media, the general public and even in the plenary session of Congress denounce and take action in this regard.”

“It even seems like a never-ending thing in this game that they think we’re going to give in or stay quiet. Honestly, it hurts me how they play with the money of taxpayers and retirees, but above all it hurts me much more how they do not feel an iota of empathy for the thousands of Paraguayans who are insured with ailments, who do not have decent access to medical services and that they don’t even have medicine supplies,” lamented

“I sincerely hope that these situations will not be replicated because I will not allow them to make fun of the people and not give priority to something as essential as health and life,” he asserted.
