Senator Sánchez Cordero stressed that An identification document is one thing and another is the human right to identity and, moreover, the credentials to vote will be obsolete in a very short period of time, because our identity is already through our facial recognition, our fingerprints.

With new technologies, everyone will have, he stressed, QR of the Ministry of the Interior for the human right to our identity, that is why the general population law is so important, which has not been approved.

Another relevant issue that must be unblocked, he indicated, is the general law to regulate cannabis, which has gone through a bumpy legislative process, since it was approved in the Senate, but in the Chamber of Deputies they made changes that even went against what the Supreme Court ordered in this matter and therefore the process began with a new initiative.

In all honesty, I think we’re falling behind the world if we don’t make progress on that issue. and the consumption of marijuana for recreational purposes is regulated. Our South American, Chilean, Argentine, Colombian brothers, among others, ask how long Mexico will take this important step..

In his opinion, the Senate is also pending to process the National Code of Civil and Family Procedures, approve the ruling to prohibit the so-called conversion therapies, which violate human rights, immigration laws, among others, and some 50 appointments to relieve.

In this period of sessions, the senators of Morena We must continue to take firm steps in the development of our institutions, steps that prevent setbacks in the progressiveness of our rights and that legitimize the necessary legislative counterweights to establish a scheme of accountability for our work. as legislators.
