The second phase of the project Duarte with Paris will be inaugurated this Wednesday by the President of the Republic, Louis Abinaderand of the Action, Undertake and Transform Foundation led by the former mayor of the National District and current Minister of Tourism, David Collado.
that phase includes from the Duarte to the José Martí, which includes the reorganization of vehicular traffic, new trees and lighting, sewage infrastructure and signage, as well as new street furniture.
President Abinader inaugurated, together with Collado, the first section that comprised from Jacinto de la Concha to Duarte Avenue and they are expected to do the same on Wednesday of this week.
The investment was 202 million pesos, a large part contributed by the business sector and the Fundación Acción, Emprende y Transforma. It is a promise made by former Mayor Collado during his administration and that could not end due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
“In November 2021, the first phase from Jacinto de la Concha to Duarte was delivered, and after almost a year of operating, the vehicular flow has been reorganized, now being faster with the reduction to two lanes, and order and harmony have been maintained between all the components of the project and its users, verifying that the intervention is sustainable and with a clear vision of the future”, reports the Fundación Acción, Emprende y Transforma.
The complete project covers from Jacinto de la Concha street to Josefa Brea street, but only from Jacinto de la Concha street to Jose Marti It was made by the foundation directed by Collado, the rest is in charge of the Mayor’s Office, hand in hand with Carolina Mejia.
Work is already under way from Josefa Brea to Doctor Betances Street on everything that has to do with storm drainage, sanitation and other aspects to later complete the project until the Jose Marti.
