Nicolás Martinelli has been Luis Lacalle Pou’s trusted man for years, and is part of the Aire Fresco sector.
On February 1, 2021, the news was known that he was going to provide direct advice to the President of the Republic. The new position forced him to leave the post of Director General of the Secretariat of the Ministry of Social Development, although for a while he accompanied the modernization process of this portfolio.
Martinelli is a doctor in Law and Social Sciences, graduated from the Faculty of Law of the University of the Republic. He has specialization courses in Financial Administration and Foreign Trade. He is currently an adviser on parliamentary affairs to Dr. Luis Lacalle Pou and collaborates with Dr. Pablo Da Silveira in the coordination of the technical teams of the All sector of the National Party.
