Flamengo missed the opportunity to reduce the distance to leader Palmeiras by staying 1-1 with Ceará, this Sunday morning (4) at the Maracanã stadium. After this result, Rubro-Negro reached 44 points, seven less than Verdão, who drew 2-2 with Bragantino last Saturday.

Despite having more game volume in the first stage, the team led by Dorival Júnior saw Vozão open the scoring in the 43rd minute with Jô. On the return of the break, the Flamengo commander put some of the holders who started on the bench (Pedro, Everton Ribeiro, Vidal and Matheuzinho) on the field. With that, equality didn’t take long to come, at 7 minutes with Gabriel Barbosa.
However, Jô and Gabriel Barbosa not only starred in positive bids, but both ended up being expelled for indiscipline.
Now Flamengo focuses on the return match of the Libertadores semifinals, against São Paulo next Wednesday (7th).
