The President of Chile, Gabriel Boric, He promised this Sunday to give continuity to the constituent process with Congress and the social forces and to work to speed it up.
The Chilean president summoned the leaders of all political parties to a meeting this Monday at the Palacio de La Moneda (seat of Government) to analyze the results of the constitutional plebiscite held on Sunday, local press reported.
Boric assured that will unite all its efforts to rewrite the text of a new Constitution and said that he will put Chile ahead.
Earlier, after voting this morning in his native Punta Arenas, Boric, One of the promoters of the new Constitution said that whatever the result was, he would summon the parties and civil society to continue with the constituent process.

“I can guarantee that our will and Our action, regardless of the result, will be to call for a broad national unity of all sectors, from all social organizations, from civil society, from political parties, we want to hear all the voices in order to move forward with this process,” he stressed.
“I collect the results with great humility (…) we must listen to the voice of the people, let’s not forget why we got here, we must live up to this call, I promise to put all of myself to build a new text hand in hand with the congress”, said the Chilean president.
He added the importance of collecting “the new learnings from the text (…) I know that everyone will accompany us and I will meet with all the presidents of the chambers to carry out a round of meetings to collect the proposals for a new constitutional process”.

The Congress “must be the new protagonist, we are facing a historic challenge (…) we are building the foundations of a new Chile, we have already overcome great challenges before”, stressed Boric in his acknowledgment of defeat.
