“I would like to thank everyone for the support. It was a very difficult competition. I would like to go out with the gold, but I’m taking the bronze home, to Brazil”, declared the athlete to the press office of the Brazilian Confederation of Taekwondo (CBTKD).
The highlight of Gabriele’s campaign in the competition was the victory over world champion and Olympic medalist Bianca Wakden of Great Britain. The Brazilian continued winning, until in the semifinals she was surpassed by the French Althea Laurin.
