the congresswoman Ruth Luque (Democratic Change) ruled on the recent broadcast of an audio featuring the President of Parliament, Lady Camones (Alliance for Progress), where he is heard coordinating with the leader of his party, César Acuña, to approve a bill.
The parliamentarian was in favor of Camones Soriano resigning from his position within the Legislative Board of Directors, as he asserted that he does not represent the figure that a head of Parliament should have.
“Individually, I think Mrs. Lady Camones should not continue in office because she does not represent what a President of Congress should be. I’ve said it, it seems to me that she should step aside”, he stated for Successful.

Luque also questioned the press conference given by the president of Congress, criticizing that the aforementioned material had been leaked and spread, instead of demarcating himself from Acuña Peralta.
“She gave statements to the press decontextualizing what happened and rather he should make a public acknowledgment and say clearly that Congress is not at the service of the president of his party. What he did was take the issue elsewhere and regretted the leak, but the issue is not the leak”, held.
“The presidency of Congress cannot remain in the hands of someone who expresses particular interests in a specific candidacy.”, he added.
