Maduro: Attack against Cristina Fernández is the result of hatred

General rejection for the attack against Vice President Cristina Fernández

The President of the Republic, Nicolás Maduro, denounced this Sunday that the failed attack against the Vice President of Argentina, Cristina Fernández, is the result of a hate campaign.

“This attempted assassination has marked the entire continent, they set off alarms about how far they can go, what are the limits of violence, of hatred? How far can it go?” President Maduro said in an interview with program Rompiendo Moldes, broadcast by the Argentine radio station Radio10.

He added that this assassination attempt is the result of an accumulation of hate campaigns, “negative polarization, exclusionary polarization, polarization based on intolerance, they are hate campaigns that aim to promote psychological warfare.”

Along these same lines, President Maduro recalled that similar experiences have been experienced in Venezuela, as is the case of the attack perpetrated against him in August 2018.

«We have experienced situations that we could say similar. After an accumulated number of years of attacks, I had to experience an assassination attempt on August 4, 2018,” he said.

He added that during the investigation of that event, all the material authors and part of the intellectual authors were captured.

“We lived through an assassination attempt that was prepared and financed from Colombia. Political leaders of the Venezuelan right such as Julio Borges participated in it », he recalled.

Likewise, he rejected that some Venezuelan opposition sectors do not desist from their campaign of terror and violence.

“Fortunately, the truth prevailed, only the strength of a united society and the moral height of its political leaders can ensure that an act like this is permanently condemned and provokes an awareness of peace.”
