A total of 637 Bolívar Chávez (Ubch) battle units will be elected this Saturday in the state of Trujillo, as part of the process of renewing the base leaders of the United Socialist Party of Venezuela (PSUV).
In this regard, the governor of the state of Trujillo Gerardo Márquez described this process as a “democratic party”, which only the red awning dares to do internally “a democratic act of this magnitude”.
He recalled that the first step executed was the election of promoters in 7,049 informative assemblies held in the state of Trujillo, where more than 80% were selected by consensus.
Regarding the process of appointing street bosses, Márquez indicated that 126,265 people participated to elect more than 28,000 militants as members of this structure.
“Then we elected and renewed the community leaders with their structures, we held 1,889 assemblies and 146,417 people participated, 40,000 more than those who elected me as governor. And this weekend we are going to the elections of the 637 Ubch in the state of Trujillo and I am sure that we are going to exceed the number of the community elections”, highlighted the governor.
He added that Trujillo has 100 percent of the organized teams and the promoters designated for the elections this Saturday.

The political coordinator of the PSUV in Trujillo, Gerardo Márquez, was surprised at the number of young people, aged between 16 and 18, elected as street and community bosses.
“We are surprised that leaders of 16, 17 and 18 years old have been elected as street chiefs, community chiefs, as members of the street and community structures in the entity,” he said.
In this sense, Leonela Terán from the Monseñor Carrillo parish in the Trujillo municipality and 18 years old, elected as head of community, and Anny Morales, 16, elected as head of community in the Pampán municipality, expressed their commitment to fight for their communities; At the same time, they thanked the PSUV militants for their support and trust, especially the regional leadership.

Márquez indicated that this Saturday 10 members of a Ubch will be elected, the most voted will be the head of the Ubch and the nine most voted will be integrated into the areas of training, electoral strategy and communication, mobilization, women, productive economy, youth , commune and social movements, working class, missions and great missions.
At 12 noon the assembly was installed with the nominations of at least 10 candidates, to then open the voting from one to six in the afternoon.
“They will be the same voting tables that are established in conventional elections. At each table there will be two attendance lists, one for voters registered in the REP (Permanent Electoral Registry) of that Ubch and another for young people aged 15 and older who are not registered in the National Electoral Council (CNE) or in the PSUV, and for the voters who are from the communities, from the point and circle”, he detailed.
The regional president called on the population to actively participate in this internal electoral process and in turn welcomed the full exercise of democracy.
