They believe that if they have 87 votes, they have a vacancy due to permanent moral incapacity, the president leaves, they disqualify Dina Boluarte and then they would call general elections, but for this we are talking about 2023 or 2024,” said the lawyer.
“Peru Libre got 37 congressmen, today they are in different groups, but they represent the support of the president plus the 5 of Together for Peru add up to 42. With them plus two more they have President Pedro Castillo shielded against vacancy even if the option reaches 80 votes”, he added.
In that sense, he stressed that they do have the necessary support for a early electionsbut “The problem is that they don’t want to leave.”
