The Secretariat of Citizen Security reported that around one in the morning of this September 3, a call was received through the 911 system about the report of an explosion that shook homes in the area of Ciprés and Jaime Torres Bodet streets of the Atlampa colony.
An official unit arrived at the site. The officers noticed that there was damage to the glass of the police station located on the low bridge of Ricardo Flores Magón Avenue. A couple of minutes later, personnel from the Heroic Fire Department arrived.
Two uniformed officers identified as Xochitl Martínez, 44, and Jonathan Galicia, 30, commissioned to the guard inside the attacked police station, resulted in minor injuries that did not warrant transfer to a hospital, they also presented a nervous breakdown, according to reports. personnel from the Medical Emergency and Rescue Squad (ERUM).
The explosion left damage to glass and screens installed inside the police station.
C5 personnel are already monitoring the cameras near the place to find those likely responsible for these events, while the capital prosecutor’s office opened an investigation folder for property damage and outrages against the authority.
These types of facilities were built during the government of Miguel Angel Mancera as part of its security and proximity strategy in areas with a high incidence of crime, however, when the new capital administration arrived, these were abandoned and several of them were converted into Points of Innovation, Freedom, Art, Education and Knowledge (Pillars) .
Other police stations such as the one attacked this morning were only kept under the guard of uniformed officers.
