President Andrés Manuel López Obrador argued that it should not be penalize

By offering his opinion as a citizen, since, he said, it is a matter between the Legislative and Judicial Power, he assessed that the rest (resorting to a criminal complaint against the directors) I do not consider it appropriate, I even think that it serves so that the directors have more excuses and delay the process more and do not comply with their responsibility

Meanwhile, as President, he expressed that he is pleased that the consultation continues and defended that it is an exercise in participatory democracy, and insisted that the actions of the councilors were a mistake and they would have to admit it, because they opposed a constitutional mandate and acted antidemocratic, but in politics you have to know how to rectify, not fall into complacency, not cling

In accordance with article 64 of the Federal Law of Popular Consultation, in order for it to be binding and to comply with what the majority of the population decides, the participation of at least 40 percent of the citizens registered on the voters list is necessary.
López Obrador reiterated that if such participation is not achieved, but the majority of those who vote are inclined not to continue in government, I am leaving, why?
