The General Directorate of the Penitentiary System announced that as of this Wednesday, December 29, it will suspend the visit of relatives in the Santiago penitentiary, Veraguas province.
The measure, which is temporary, was adopted after the detection of eight positive cases of Covid-19.
The Ministry of Government reported that, once the prison situation was known, the galleries, corridors, custodians’ dormitory, offices and access points to the center were disinfected.
The entity also reported that the telephone lines 935-0083 / 0084 were activated, where the relatives can make the respective inquiries about the state of their health of the person deprived of liberty.
