Digital channels continued to generate the highest growth in the number of operations in the financial system at the end of the first half of the year.
According to the information reported to the Financial Superintendence by all entities in the sector, In the first half of 2022, the Colombian financial system carried out a total of 6,667 million operations; of which 2,957 million were monetary, for an amount of $5,328 billion and 3,709 million were non-monetary.
In the first half of 2022, the number of monetary operations and the amounts traded increased by 9.9% and 8.4%, respectively, compared to what was registered in the second half of 2021; in turn, non-monetary operations increased by 5.1%.

According to the Superfinanciera, in the first half of 2022 the largest number of monetary operations was carried out in the mobile telephony channel with 738 million for $204 billion. By amount of operations, the first places were occupied by internet channels and offices, with $2.473 and $1.286 billion, respectively.

An important aspect mentioned in the operations report for the first semester of the Financial Superintendence is that 72% of the operations were carried out through mobile banking and the Internet.

On the other hand, the preferred channels to carry out money transactions are mobile telephony, with 738 million operations and a growth of 23.6% compared to the second half of 2021.
Next are the dataphones, of which there are 1,086,812 units in the country and with them a total of 558 million operations were carried out, with a growth of 3.1% compared to the second half of last year.

The Superfinancial said in its report that Internet was the channel with the highest amount traded, with a total of $2.473 billionwhich represented an increase of 12% compared to the second half of 2021.

The least used channels to carry out money transactions were the audio answering system, with 652,995 operations, and branches, with 222 million transactions.
When comparing the first half of 2022 with the immediately previous half, the number of monetary operations carried out through audio-response registered a growth of 85.6% and those made in branches of 16.1%.

On the other hand, where there are fewer balance inquiries are the dataphones with 6.5 million non-monetary operations, a figure that represents a drop of 27.9% compared to the previous semester. In the branches, 13.2 million non-monetary balance consultation operations were carried out, with a drop of 10.4% and then by audio response, 14.9 million non-monetary consultation operations and a decrease of 3.5% compared to to the second half of 2021.
In the 5,641 offices of the financial system that exist throughout the country, 235 million operations were carried out, of which 222 million were monetary operations for COP 1,286 billion and in addition 13.2 million non-monetary operations were carried out.
Additionally, in the 16,012 ATMs on which there was a report throughout the country, 419 million operations were made, of which 395 million were monetary for $158 billion and in addition 23.3 million were non-monetary.
With the 1,086,812 reported dataphones, 564 million operations were carried out, of which 558 million were monetary transactions for $83 billion and 6.5 million were non-monetary.
With the figure of banking correspondents, of which there are 250,344 in Colombia, between last January and June 370 million monetary operations were made, totaling $144 billion.
According to the Superfinanciera, in the first six months of the year, 954 million non-monetary operations and 404 million monetary operations were carried out through the internet channel for $2.473 billion.
