The Nicaraguan Human Rights Collective Never Again, together with Organized Nicaraguan Youth, denounce the conditions in which the young political prisoners Lesther Alemán, Max Jerez and Yader Parajón are found, who they affirm “show a notable deterioration in health.” They demand that the regime of Daniel Ortega show and release the more than 30 imprisoned youth, who are in different prisons in the country.
«Starting from the situation of Max and Lesther, we see that the situation is critical, it is serious, and we want to know what is the background of showing some political prisoners and not others. We have prisoners like John (Cerna) and Kevin (Solís) who have been in the cells for more than two years and in the long run the regime does not even label them or consider them in this condition as political prisoners,” denounces the organization from Costa Delicious.

The organization considers that this action by the regime constitutes “media propaganda, which seeks to create a division between the population and the opposition so that we see them as different. But, they are not different, some have been imprisoned since 2018 and others under other conditions since 2021, some are undergoing torture and others in isolation, but all are surviving the attacks of the regime.
They ask Ortega to show all the imprisoned young people, “we do not know what state they are in and we demand that the regime show them and that the rest of the young people be given adequate attention because we know that these people are suffering from health problems and the regime is not giving them the necessary attention.”
