Vice President of the Republic, Rachel Peña, reported this Tuesday that the Dominican government decided to apply the fourth dose of vaccine against the coronavirus, based on national and international studies.
The vice president specified that the studies that until now have been done worldwide on the disease “are not terminal”, for which a constant investigation is maintained.
Peña reiterated that the fourth dose of the vaccine against COVID It is voluntary, as stated in resolution 000069 of the Ministry of Public Health.
After being approached by journalists, the official stressed that the purpose of the government it is “to further protect the population.”

He also announced that this Wednesday there will be a press conference at the facilities of the Ministry of Public Health to treat everything related to the fourth dose of the vaccine against illness.

Public Health published last Monday the resolution 000069 in which it establishes the application of a fourth dose of the vaccine against COVID optional within the vaccination scheme that is managed in the Dominican society. The fourth dose will be applied from the six months of placing the third dose and it is recommended that the drugs of several companies be used.

The document published by Public Health on Monday afternoon indicates that the third dose may be applied “30 days after the person has received the second.”
