Robert Lewandowski has arrived at Barcelona to change the face of the Barça team. In three league games he has already scored four goals. But the life of the Polish striker does not only revolve around football. Every year, according to ‘Forbes’ magazine, he collects 13 million euros from Nike, Huawei and Procter & Gamble, his sponsors. In addition, ‘Lewy’ owns multiple businesses.
The money-making machine created by the 34-year-old footballer has RL9 as its central point, his personal brand. In fact, when he arrived at Barça, Lewandowski quickly took the number ‘9’ shirt to the detriment of Memphis Depay, the owner of him until then. Three of his businesses include ‘9’ in their name and his Instagram account is @_rl9.
But the former Bayern Munich player has not only created his empire. The other key piece is his wife, Anna Lewandowska, a world medalist karateka who is a celebrity in Poland. With her he shares a clothing brand, 4F, which has dressed eight different Olympic committees: those of Poland, Serbia, Croatia, Greece, Latvia, Slovakia, Lithuania and North Macedonia.
The brand has had a presence in both the Summer and Winter Olympics. Beyond that, 4F also dresses the Polish basketball team, has a clothing line dedicated to Lewandowski and another to Lewandowska, and makes Ukraine support shirts.
On the other hand, the marriage has promoted Stor9, a marketing, advertising and public relations agency that works with ‘influencers’ to give voice to the stories that brands and public figures want to tell, especially from the world of sports and culture. Some of its main clients are HBO, BMW, Martini, Huawei, Sephora and T-Mobile.
In addition, Lewandowski has created RL9 Games, a video game company that has two products dedicated to soccer. The first of them, ‘Football Coach’, is a kind of Polish ‘PC Soccer’. The second, ‘Football Quiz’, is a quiz with hundreds of questions related to the world of football. In fact, according to RL9 Games, it contains the largest database of soccer questions, and it continues to grow.
The new Barça footballer also has his own restaurant in Warsaw (Poland), Nine’s, a place where you can watch sporting events on the twenty televisions that are scattered around the premises and where there is even a room with a small stand in front of a cinema. At Nine’s they serve American cuisine with Asian and Polish touches, and some dishes are dedicated to Lewandowski himself.
And here the business of the ‘9’ of Xavi Hernández’s team does not end. Lewandowski has injected money into Protos Venture Capital, a Polish venture capital fund that invests in knowledge and experience projects in the digital world. It is made up of entrepreneurs from the Internet industry and managers of venture capital and private equity funds.
All these adventures of the Polish striker, including the main one, his football career, are managed by Lewandowski, at the communication level, through RL Media, which thanks to an alliance is part of Group One, a communication company.
The tentacles of the Barça footballer are so long that you can even drink an RL9 coffee. This line of products is included in the company Foods by Ann, a project of Anna Lewandowska specialized in natural and healthy food that also has fruity drinks with her husband as her claim. EFE
