The President of the Republic, Luis Lacalle Pou, inaugurated the Fendi Chateau complex of two towers, located at the entrance to Punta del Este, which has ultra-luxury apartments for an extremely exclusive public that can pay six-figure amounts in dollars.
In the two 27-story towers overlooking the sea, there are apartments that cost from US $ 1.2 million for the simplest to US $ 4 million for the most elegant.
The president pointed out the importance of “tying” private entrepreneurship, “the one that pushes and gives work” to state, departmental and national policies.
He affirmed that the Uruguayan, when he makes an effort and has tools and education, “wins on any field.”
The president was accompanied by his wife, Lorena Ponce de León, and the Vice President of the Republic, Beatriz Argimón; the Secretary of the Presidency, Álvaro Delgado; the chancellor, Francisco Bustillo; the Minister of the Interior, Luis Alberto Heber, and the Undersecretary of Tourism, Remo Monzeglio. Also the national secretary of Sport, Sebastián Bauzá; the mayor of Maldonado, Enrique Antia; the Ambassador of Uruguay in Argentina, Carlos Enciso; Château Group business developer Guillermo Coldesina; and the representative in Uruguay of the investment group, Sergio Grosskopf.
Millionaire investment
Tourism Minister Remo Monzeglio said this type of high-caliber investment is of “importance”, attracting multi-million dollar buyers. In total there are 150 residences in the two towers, ranging from 190 to 550 square meters.
The investment totaled 150 million dollars, and about 600 people worked in the construction.
Two new towers are expected to be built to complete the initial project.
