The Ministry of Public Health (MINSAP) of Cuba reported at the end of the first day of September 197 active infected, among them the 42 new patients with COVID-19 diagnosed thanks to the analysis of 1889 samples.
The most recent part The health agency indicates that there were no deaths related to the disease on the day, so the figure of 8,530 deaths since the start of the pandemic was maintained, which represents a fatality rate of 0.77%.

A total of 304 patients are currently hospitalized, of which 107 are suspected of having been infected with the new coronavirus.
Of the recent cases, 20 are women and 22 men; and, of the total, 31 were contacts of confirmed cases, two had their source of infection abroad, and the route of infection of nine patients remained to be specified.
Regarding ages, 30 are under 20 years old, nine are in the range of 20 to 39 years old, two are between 40 and 59 years old, while only one is over 60 years old.
The absence of infections in Havana is striking in the report, while Holguín (14) remains the main source of infection. Of the other 11 territories with new patients, only Camagüey (7) exceeded five cases.
The Minsap confirmed that the two evacuated at the beginning of the pandemic and the 57 returned to their country were maintained, and that 47 medical discharges had been granted during the day.
Three patients continue to receive care in intensive care units, all reported as serious.
