The leftist Antauro Humala Tasso reiterated, in an interview with the news network CNN, his position of not owing his recent freedom to the President of the Republic, Pedro Castillo Terrones.
“I owe Pedro Castillo absolutely nothing. He was not able to honor his teacher’s word and pardon me. I have been released for a sentence served, that is, I have served my jail term. That is why I go out with my head held high”, said the owner of the ethnocacerista party.
The brother of former President Ollanta Humala added more details to his relationship with President Castillo and explained that he supported the current head of state in the second round of the 2021 presidential elections without seeking any benefit in return.
“What is happening with Pedro Castillo is unfortunate, because he was a hope for the country. We, the ethnocaceristas who had risen up against Fujimori in the year 2000, obviously had to support Castillo in the face of Mrs. Keiko Fujimori’s candidacy, as well as many groups that did not accept the return of Fujimori’s tyranny and corruption. We do not ask for anything in return. The offer of pardon was born from him and he said it twice, “said Isaac Humala’s son.
On the other hand, the leader of the Andahuaylazo referred to the corruption investigations against Pedro Castillo along with his entourage and pointed out that there is still no evidence.
“As for the cases of corruption, so far they are all indications. We want to see the evidence. In any case, we will be frontal with the corruption, both of Castillo and the others before him who are practically in the same situation,” Antauro Humala said.
Death penalty
The ethnocacerista party is characterized by its radical proposals to reach the Government and the leader of this political group, Antauro Humala Tasso, has demonstrated it once again.
On this occasion, he told journalist Fernando del Rincón that former presidents Alberto Fujimori, Alejandro Toledo, Pedro Pablo Kuczynski, Martín Vizcarra and his brother Ollanta Humala should be sentenced to death for having been shown acts of corruption.
“It does not matter that he is my brother, I judge him as president of the Republic (…). They have all been thieves and traitors. High corruption is a figure of treason against the country, they have given away the national treasury and that is punishable by capital punishment,” said the former presidential candidate for Unión por el Perú.
